West Baton Rouge Parish officials are investigating reports of an unusual odor along Interstate 10 and Highway 1 South after receiving multiple complaints from residents Monday morning.

The West Baton Rouge Fire Department, Public Utilities Department and members of the parish administration have been working to identify the source, but as of late Monday morning had not been able to determine where the odor is coming from.

The West Baton Rouge Office of Emergency Preparedness has notified the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality as the investigation continues.

Parish officials said they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
