BRUSLY — The Brusly Panthers rolled to a 34-0 win over the Port Allen Pelicans on Friday night in the 55th Annual Sugar Cane Classic, extending their winning streak in the parish rivalry to seven straight years.

Brusly controlled the game from the opening whistle. Running back Robdrick Covington punched in an early touchdown to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead, and the defense smothered Port Allen quarterback Tyler Payne all night. Johnovan Banks added a sack as part of a defensive effort that kept the Pelicans off the scoreboard.

Port Allen reached the red zone roughly four times on the night but could not convert.

It was Brusly's second shutout in the rivalry in three years, following a 7-0 win in 2024. The Panthers also won 42-6 last year.
